Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Marian men's track and field had a strong outing at the Indiana Tech Invitational on Friday, as the Knights hit four new NAIA standard marks and set a pair of records. Highlighting the efforts were
Manny Manneh and
Isaiah Tipping, who each set records on Friday.
Isaiah Tipping already established a new Marian record this season in the weight throw, but on Friday broke his personal mark for a second time this season with his NAIA-leading throw of 20.36m. Tipping's mark bests his previous personal best of 0.40m, and increases his lead on the NAIA.
Manny Manneh tied the Marian school record in the 60m, as he blazed the track in 6.80 seconds in the finals to post the fastest mark in program history. Manneh also hit an NAIA A standard in the race.Â
Also hitting NAIA standards on Friday were
Matthew Riehle in the 600m and
Olivier Lifrange in the 400m, both of whom benefited from the conversion mark to a 300m track to improve their times to NAIA B standards. The pair won their respective events on Friday, and both were on Marian's first place 4x400m relay team.
Jacob Netral improved his mark in the weight throw from an NAIA B standard to A standard on Friday as he joins
Christian Rios with 'A' marks in each of the two throwing events. Marian had an NAIA A standard time on Friday in the 4x800m relay, as the team of
Owen Pittman,
Howard Hendricks,
Andrew McDade, and
Tristan Trevino scored first place in the event.Â
In addition to Marian's standards and records, the Knights posted top-three finishes in the 60m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 1000m, 3000m, 60m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, shot put, and weight throw.
