INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's basketball team extended their winning streak to 21 consecutive games Friday afternoon, as the Knights defeated Huntington 76-44 in the PE Center. Marian is now 23-1 overall on the season, while moving to 14-0 in the Crossroads League.

Ella Collier got the Knights rolling in the first quarter, as the senior poured in seven points throughout the opening 10 minutes of play to help pace the offense. Huntington would hang through the offense of Collier and Abbey McNally, sticking within a single possession after getting a 7-0 run midway through the quarter. The senior and sophomore scoring duo would retaliate with a 6-0 run to extend the lead, giving Marian a 17-14 advantage after the opening quarter.

Marian got their momentum back after Huntington made the game a three-point contest, getting a quick five points from Collier in the first two minutes of the second quarter to extend the lead to eight. A basket from Kinnidy Garrard punctuated the 7-0 run to start the quarter, giving Marian a double-digit lead of 24-14. The Knights' defense would continue to hound the Foresters as they denied any visiting points through five minutes, as the run would continue through the post tandem of Garrard and McNally. Marian led 28-14 with 5:32 to play in the half, and would end the half on a high note out-scoring 10-5, entering the break on top 38-19.

Collier finished the first half with 18 points, and added to her game-leading total in the third quarter with a pair of trips to the foul line. Marian built their lead over 20 points following Collier's first trip to the line and a make from Allison Bosse, giving control to the Knights by midway through the third quarter. A three-point play from Bosse with 4:46 to go sealed Marian's 20-point advantage on the board, which Marian would ride into the final quarter leading 57-32.

In the fourth quarter, Marian was able to pull their starters as the game reached its conclusion, building their lead near 30 points with a pair of makes by Aliyah Evans. The Knights led 65-38 with 5:15 to play, and took a 30-point advantage thanks to a 6-0 run in the final three minutes fueled by Esther Sevilla and Josie Trabel. A Kenna Gray three and fastbreak layup for Eva Fisher would put a cap on the fireworks for the Knights, as they closed the final quarter strong in their 76-44 victory.

Marian shot 53 percent from the field in the win, and were led in scoring by Collier's game-high 22 points. Abbey McNally finished with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double, and Kinnidy Garrard scored 10 points in the win.

The Knights will return to play on Wednesday, February 14, as they travel to Bethel University.
