INDIANAPOLIS - On the eve of the 18th season of Marian University Football, the Knights are headed north to Michigan for their 2024 opening game, taking on Siena Heights University. The eighth season under head coach Ted Karras Jr. will kick at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7. 

THE GAME AND THE SERIES
Marian has owned the series against Siena Heights, holding a perfect 11-0 record in their long-standing series history. The Knights won last season's contest 24-14, earning their share of the MSFA Mideast League Championship in their 2023 senior day win. The matchup on Saturday will mark the first non-conference game between the two teams, with Marian moving to the MSFA Midwest League in 2024.

Marian last played in Adrian in the 2021 season, returning to Michgian with a very different lineup than last displayed. Only 12 members of the Marian roster have played at Siena Heights, with four starters returning from that November matchup in Baron Huebler, Zach Sibila, Austin Jones, and Adam Warren. Huebler recorded 89 total yards of offense in the win, and Drew Byerly scored a 70-yard touchdown. Jayshawn Underwood and Jacob Howell combined for five total tackles, representing the remaining defensive players in the box score from 2021. Marlon Pomili was a perfect 4-4 on point-after-touchdown attempts in 2021.

Temperatures for Saturday's season-opening kickoff call for a high of 62 on the day in Adrian, Michigan, with temps hovering near 60 at the opening kick.

INTRODUCING QB1
Tristan Polk will make his debut as the Marian football starting quarterback on Saturday, as the redshirt-junior makes his first career start. Polk appeared in one game in the 2023 season, earning a redshirt season. Polk has seen action in 10 career games entering Saturday, and will pair up with new offensive coordinator Matt King.

HEAD OF THE ROUND TABLE
Marian has selected nine captains for their 2024 season, with Tristan Polk, Jayshawn Underwood, Connor Young, Baron Huebler, Joe Apata, JT Downey, Keagan La Belle, Deon Pettiford, and Zach Sibila earning the distinction in 2024.

TICKETS

Fans can purchase tickets at the gate and online Saturday's game. Gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Ticket prices are $8 for general admission and $6 for children under 12 and senior citizens.

Marian will kickoff their season at 12:00 p.m. against Siena Heights in Adrian, Michigan.
