Spring Arbor, Mich.- Marian men's soccer falls 2-1 to Spring Arbor in a ranked match-up on Saturday afternoon. The Knights are now 8-4-4 overall on the season and 2-4-2 in the Crossroads League.
Marian opened up the game with a shot from
Joao Antonio Rocha before the game was put under a lighting delay. Out of the delay
Donovan Doolittle took a shot but was quickly followed up with a duo of shots from the Cougars. Marian continued to fire back with a trio of shots from
Sebastian Gonzalez and two from Rocha. Each side took another shot with
Alexis Lopez recording the shot for the Knights before Spring Arbor benefited off of a penalty kick to record the first goal of the game. Rocha attempted to counter but came up short to the Cougars defense in the goal ending the first half trailing 0-1.
Matthew Loo opened up the second half with a shot blocked by the Cougars. Spring Arbor fired back with a goal to increase their lead to two. Marian continued to fight recording six shots from Rocha, Lopez, and
Rafael Zambrano. The Cougars fired off a shot that hit the post before Lopez fired back with a goal that was assisted by Wesseling to bring the margin down to one. Each team fired off a pair of shots with
Foslyn Grant and
Kyohei Kuroda recording the shots for the Knights but came up short ending the game with a 2-1 loss.
Joao Antonio Rocha led the team in shots with five while
Alexis Lopez was close behind with four and the soul goal.
Josh Wesseling record two shots with the single assist.

Mateo Garcia-Galan recorded two shots on the evening.
The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, October 25th as they take on No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan in a ranked match-up on the road.
