Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Marian Men's Cross Country team finished in the top-five at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday morning. The No. 8 Knights finished in fifth with 200 points in the maroon race.

Indiana Wesleyan finished in first with 79 points and Taylor finished as the runner-ups with 122 points. Rocky Mountain finished in third with 142 points and IU-East finished in fourth with 186. Marian rounded out the top five with 200 points. Other Crossroads League Schools included; Spring Arbor in seventh, Goshen in eighth, Mount Vernon in 18th, and Grace in 21st.

Tristian Trevino led the way for the Knights with a third place finish recording a time of 24:23.20 pacing a 3:03. Charlie Leedke was the next Knight to finish with a 16th place finish clocking a 24:43.90 and pacing a 3:05. Ben Moster was the third to finish for Marian with a time of 25:04.90 finishing 37th. 

Ben Riehle finished with a time of 25:21.70 finishing in 55th overall. Clark Chustz finished in 89th with a time of 25:47.90. Rick Williams finished in 97th with a time of 25:53.10. While Nick Frank rounded out the top seven with a 102nd placement clocking a time of 25:55.30. 

Marian had three more runners in the Maroon race with Preston Markley finishing in 117th, Marc Hernandez in 130th, and Alex Lopez in 149th. 

In the white race Marian finished in sixth with a score of 192. Matthias Smith led the way finishing in 11th. Sam Sienkowski finished in 38th while Lucas Steward finished in 45 and Landon Willis finished in 48th. Jake Cooper finished in 60th and Alex Mundt was close behind in 62nd. Mason Piatt finished in 83rd and Everett Carlisle rounded out the Knights finishing in 87th. 

The Knights will be back in action on November 7th as they travel to Marion, Ind. to compete in the Crossroads League Championships.
