Winona Lake, Ind. - The Marian men's soccer team ended their road stretch falling 3-0 to No. 21 Grace Saturday afternoon. The Knights are now 7-4-3 on the season overall and 2-1-1 in the Crossroads League.
Marian recorded a pair of corner kicks to open up the first half. But Grace controlled the half with 10 shots against the Knights.
Mateo Garcia-Galan was able to save the two shots that were on target by the Lancers to keep the score 0-0 going into half time.
Grace opened up the second half with a trio of shots before they were successful and scored the first goal of the day taking the 1-0 lead over Marian. The Lancers continued to push recording two more shots and a goal to increase their lead to two.
Donovan Doolittle pushed back with a shot that was a tad to the left but Grace was able to follow up with another shot on target that was saved by
Mateo Garcia-Galan. Each team traded shots with
Rafael Zambrano recording the shot for the Knights. Marian was able to follow up with two more shots from Zambrano and
Rodolfo Batisti before Grace recording another goal to increase the lead to three.
Kyohei Kuroda and
Sebastian Gonzalez attempted to get the Knights on the board but came up short ending the game with a 3-0 loss to Grace.
Rafael Zambrano led the Knights in shots with two while
Kyohei Kuroda,
Donovan Doolittle, Sebasitan Gonzalez, and
Rodolfo Batisti each recorded one. In goal
Mateo Garcia-Galan took the loss recording three saves and giving up three goals.
Marian will be back in action on Saturday, October 11th as they take on Taylor at home at 3 PM.
