Marian Athletics Fourth in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Learfield Directors' Cup fall standings for Divisions I, II, III, and the NAIA were released on Tuesday afternoon, releasing the top teams in overall national standing through the fall. For the sixth consecutive fall, Marian University has earned a placement in the top-10 in the NAIA standings, as the Knights hold the fourth position after the fall season.

Marian has scored 296.5 points so far in the 2025-26 academic year, scoring in women's cross country (73.5), women's soccer (73), football (65), men's cross country (60), and volleyball (25). This is the first time that Marian's women's cross country program has led the fall sports teams with the highest score, which comes on the heels of its sixth-place finish at the NAIA National Championship this fall, a program best. 2025 also marks the second season in which one of Marian's two cross country programs leads the Knights' fall totals, with the men's program having led the fall 2024 totals.

Indiana Wesleyan leads the overall rankings in the NAIA, scoring 425 points. Indiana Wesleyan scored in each of the six fall sports, winning two NAIA National Championships. The University of the Cumberlands is second with 385 points, and the College of Idaho is third with 333.5 points. Marian edged out The Master's for fourth, as they scored 270 points to secure fifth.

The Crossroads League boasts an NAIA-best three top-10 teams, with Taylor sitting outside of the top-5 with its sixth-place position. All 10 Crossroads League members scored Learfield points throughout the fall, with each ranking in the top-100.

The final fall standings for Division I and Division III will be published on Thursday, January 22, following the totals of the football championships in both divisions. 13 teams can score for a university's yearly total, four of which must include men's and women's basketball, men's soccer, and volleyball.
