Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Marian University women's cross country team opened the season at the Mastodon Alumni Open hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne, placing as the runner-up in the season-opening event.
Gracynn Hinkley was the top finisher for the Knights, good for fourth overall and the third-best collegiate runner in the event with a time of 18:57.8.
Summer Rempe was the other Marian runner to turn in a top-10 finish, placing eighth with a mark of 19:34.5.
