Mishawaka, Ind. - The Marian softball team dominated in their road sweep over Bethel on Friday afternoon. The Knights are now 19-3 overall on the season and 9-1 in the Crossroads League.

Marian got off to an early start with
Lily Wendt kicking things off with a ground out to second to allow
Abby Madere to advance to third and
Abbey Hofmann to cross the plate and get the Knights on the board. Soon after on a passed ball Madere scored another run and ended the inning with the 2-0 lead. Bethel fired off a ground out to short stop but the runner on base was able to score a run on the throw to bring Marian's lead down to one. Hofmann got the ball rolling once more with a steal of second base which allowed
Ally Malone to score on the throw and increase the Knights lead 3-1 in the second inning.
Marian had a big third inning with Madere scoring on a fielders choice to get Wendt out at third. Malone followed up with a single where
Hayley Greene and
Grace Meyer were able to each score a run on the throw and increase the lead to five. Minnix wrapped up the inning with a single which scored
Brooke Knox and Malone and increase the score 8-1 at the end of the third.
In the fourth inning Malone doubled into center field to allow Wendt to score another run for the Knights. Minnix followed up with a single to center field and allowed Greene to score and increase the lead 10-1. Marian took the run rule win with a fielder's choice and pair of ground outs in the bottom of the fifth by the Pilots.
Ally Malone led the Knights going 2-2 from the plate with two runs and two RBIs while
Jenna Minnix went 3-2 from the plate and led the team in RBIs with three.
Lily Wendt went 3-1 from the plate with one run and one RBI while
Grace Meyer went 2-0 with one run and one RBI.Â
In the circle
Olivia Stunkel took home her ninth win with three innings pitched only giving up three hits. Stunkel recorded four strikeouts out of the 13 batters faced.
Katie Lackman came in and pitched the last two innings giving up no hits and faced seven batters.

Caroline Roop got the ball rolling in the second inning with a ground out to second to allow
Jenna Minnix to score.
Brooke Knox followed up with a reach by an error from second which allowed
Ally Malone to score on the throw to take the 2-0 lead.
Minnix struck again with a fly out to right in the fifth inning to allow Abbey Madere to score and increase the lead 3-0.
Grace Meyer sealed the deal with a home run to right center in the bottom of the seventh to take the 4-0 win.
Abbey Hoffman,
Abby Madere, and
Lily Wendt all went 4-2 at the plate with Madere recording a run.
Grace Meyer went 3-2 with one run and one RBI.
Jenna Minnix went 2-1 from the plate with one run and one RBI while
Caroline Roop and
Brooke Knox recorded one RBI each. In the circle
Macy Coan pitched all seven innings recording three hits and four strikeouts and 27 batters faced.
The Knights are back in action on Tuesday as they travel up to Goshen to take on the Maple Leafs in their first meeting of the season. First pitch for game one is set for 3 pm.
