Abbey McNally Earns Season's Second NAIA Player of the Week Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One day after being named both the Crossroads League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, Marian women's basketball senior Abbey McNally has been named as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the second time this season Abbey has earned Offensive Player of the Week at the national level.

McNally's award comes on the heels of her single-game scoring record set on Saturday afternoon, when she dropped a whopping 39 points on Bethel University in Marian's 74-56 victory over the Pilots. McNally broke her previous program record of 38 points with her efforts, shooting 17-24 from the field. The senior also finished the game with 16 rebounds to log her 11th double-double of the season, while additionally blocking two shots and forcing two steals. The 39 points for McNally brought her career scoring totals over 1900, as she inches closer to becoming the third Knight to score 2000 points in a career.

Abbey McNally was previously named as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week three weeks ago, earning the honor on January 6, which also followed her sweeping both of the Crossroads League's player of the week honors. The honor is the second NAIA Offensive Player of the Week in McNally's career, and the fourth overall, having previously earned two NAIA Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Marian takes on Spring Arbor tomorrow night at 5:00 p.m. in Spring Arbor, Michigan.
