Redshirt sophomore
Uriah Buchanan, redshirt junior
Samirion Ford and sophomore
Ashton Vogel were named Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
Buchanan toted a team-high 20 carries for 141 rushing yards against an Indiana Wesleyan defense that had been allowing less than 90 rushing yards per game total to its previous opponents entering Saturday's game.
The Fort Wayne native was the first Knight to rush for over 100 yards in a game this season, averaging seven yards per carry. Buchanan sealed the win with a 26-yard run on second down with the Wildcats holding timeouts.
Ford earns MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. The Indianapolis native logged a season-high 14 tackles, while helping limit an IWU offense to their lowest scoring output of the season to date.
Vogel picked up MSFA Midwest Special Teams Player of the Week honors for a third time this season, converting three of four field goal attempts and all three point-after tries. Vogel converted field goals from 35 yards, 42 yards and 27 yards; the final kick put Marian ahead for good with three and a half minutes left in the fourth.
Marian wraps up a four-game homestand on Saturday, hosting 16th-ranked Olivet Nazarene, the final unbeaten team in the MSFA. Kickoff with the Tigers is set for 1:05 p.m.
