Indianapolis, Ind. - The Marian women's lacrosse team took down No. 6 Indiana Tech to earn another ranked win on Saturday afternoon. After the win, the Knights move to 8-3 overall on the season and 6-1 in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference. 

The Knights struck early in the first quarter, winning the opening draw and allowing Ella Grace Giedd to record the first goal of the game with an assist from Rylie Boezeman. Four minutes later, Boezeman struck again with her first goal of the day, followed by Giedd recording her second and increasing the lead to three. The Warriors fought back with a goal three minutes later, reducing the Knights' lead. Indiana Tech continued to push in the remaining minutes of the quarter, winning the draw and scoring another goal, ending the quarter with Marian leading 3-2. 

Opening the second quarter, the Warriors won the draw again, striking in the opening 30 seconds and tying the game for the first time. Marian was able to push back, winning the draw, and Ruby Mason struck with the assist from Alex Dean to take the one-goal lead. The game flipped once again with Indiana Tech firing back with another goal, bringing the game to a four-goal bottleneck. With less than a minute remaining before the half, Marian took control, with Dean scoring her first goal of the game with an assist from Giedd, followed by Giedd recording her hat trick and scoring with four seconds remaining, with the assist of Taleah Nool, increasing their lead 8-7 going into the half.

The Knights were able to win the opening draw out of halftime as Nool recorded her first goal of the game and increased the lead to two. Indiana Tech quickly countered with a trio of goals to take its first lead of the game. Esbeydi Montes fired back with her first goal of the day to tie the game 10-10 going into the final quarter. 

Marian was on fire in the final quarter, with Dean opening the quarter with a goal from Nool to increase the lead to 11. Indiana Tech fired off one last goal, tying the game up one last time. Before the Knights' defense and offense played lights out for the remaining 12 minutes, with Montes, Mason, Giedd, and Delaney Koles all scoring a goal, ending the game with the 15-11 win. 

Ella Grace Giedd led the way with four goals off of her eight shots, while also recording one assist, five ground balls, and one caused turnover. Alex Dean recorded a hat trick on the day with one assist, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Taleah Nool, Esbeydi Montes, and Ruby Mason all recorded a brace on the day as well. Nool led the way in assists with three, while Rylie Boezeman also recorded one. Olivia Dean led the way in caused turnovers with five, while Montez led the way in draw controls with eight. In the goal, Aniyah Jones earned the start and the win recording seven saves and leading the team in ground ball recoveries with eight.

Marian will be back in action next Saturday as they fight for the outright regular season WHAC Conference Title with No. 10 Lawrence Tech, with the first draw set for 3 PM at Ascension St. Vincent Field.
