YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Marian women's golf team competed in the second round of the NAIA Championship on Thursday afternoon, aiming to make the cut for the final round of the championship. Opening the day in 15th position, the Knights were able to move as high as ninth before concluding the day in a tie for 14th, making the cut and qualifying for the final day of the championship.
Emma Weiler had the top overall day for the Knights, firing a 77 in her second round of the championship to end the day five-over-par. Weiler moved her total for the week to 155, jumping into the top-25 overall following her day of play.
Keara Eder suffered a slide on the leaderboard on Thursday, dropping into 54th position following her 81 in the second round. Eder ends the day with a 158 score, sitting 14-over-par for the week.
Jordan Adam ended the round with an 81 as well, moving her week total to 159 overall. Adam holds a to-75 position as the team enters the final round.
Hailey Kirkland scored Marian's second-best round score on the day, dropping a 79 on her scorecard. Kirkland ended the round with a total of 161 for the week, moving to +17 overall and into a top-85 position.
Maria Kennard rounded out the Marian lineup on the day, scoring a +11 83, ended the day with a total of 169.Â
For the day, the Knights finished with a +30 team score, bringing their week total to 633. Marian's 318 score in the second round brings the team into a tie with Milligan, as each school finished the day tied for 13th overall. Marian sits two shots outside of the top-10 following two rounds of golf.Â
Marian will tee off in round three tomorrow morning, aiming to break into the top-10 prior to the conclusion of the tournament.Â
