Asheville, N.C. - The Marian women's track and field team jumps into the top-20 after two days of competition in Asheville, N.C. The Knights earned an All-American honor, as well as running a pair of new school records in the 4x400m and 4x800m relays.
Nina Marinkovic opened up the day on the track for Marian, competing in the 100m hurdles, finishing 24th in the prelims with a time of 14.33. After a long rain delay, Summer Rempe continued action on the track, finishing 13th with a time of 2:12.35. After a short break in action, Emma Edwards competed in the final individual event on the track, clocking a 55.79 in the 400m and finishing 12th overall in the prelims.
Ozofu Magaji competed in the only field event of the day, finishing 15th in the shot put with a mark of 13.30m. Back on the track, the team of
Katie Woods,
Gracie Fields,
Summer Rempe, and
Gracynn Hinkley competed in the 4x800m finals, finishing third, recording a new school record of 8:56.07, and earning All-American honors. The women's 4x400m relay closed out the evening as the team of Edwards,
Holli Reuter,
Jovana Milosevic, and
Claire Lange clocked a new school record of 3:43.78, finishing second and advancing to finals tomorrow.
Closing out action on the final day,
Gabi Bilbrey opens up the field, competing in the discus starting at 11:45 AM. On the track, the women's 4x100m opens up action in the finals.
