INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian Women's Soccer team opened up its 2026 campaign this evening with a 7-0 shutout over Saint Francis (Ill.). Multiple Knights scored their first goals of the season while
Olivia Parmer led the way with a brace. After the win, Marian moves to 1-0 to start their four-game home stand to open the season.
After holding the game score at 0- 0 for the first 10 minutes of play, the Knights were able to strike first with a goal from
Sophia Dawson in her Marian debut.
Kaitlyn Lavezzi quickly followed up with a goal less than two minutes later to extend Marian's lead to 2-0.
Sammie King struck off a free kick to score the final goal of the half in the final seconds, extending the lead to three.
Following the halftime break, after a shot taken on each side of the pitch,
Jordan Love struck in the opening 10 minutes to extend the Knights' lead once more. After a pair of shots that were saved and blocked,
Olivia Parmer struck with back-to-back unassisted goals to claim her first brace of the season, extending the lead to six. Marian was able to benefit from a penalty kick from
Lauren Maresh in the final five minutes, ending the match with a 7-0 win.
Olivia Parmer led the way, recording five shots with four on target and two in goal, while Allie Treadway was close behind with four shots and two on target. Off the bench,
Laney Harshany led the way, recording a pair of shots. Both
Elizabeth Lantrip and
Sienna Mullen recorded an assist on two of the goals. In goal,
Lily Ames gained the start and her first win of the year, playing for 58 minutes and recording one save.
Cassidy Nowlan came in for the final 32 minutes of the game, recording three saves.
Marian will continue their home stand as they take on St. Ambrose on Saturday at 12 PM at Ascension St. Vincent Field.
