INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's soccer team suffered their first home loss of the season to No. 3 Indiana Tech Saturday evening.

The Knights and Warriors both opened up the match evenly stacked, with both sides recording a corner kick as well as a shot. Before Indiana Tech took charge, recording a pair of corner kicks as well as a shot, the first goal of the game came in the 17th minute of play, behind the foot of the Warriors. Rafael Zambrano and Leonard Assouan attempted to strike but came up short, with Zambrano's shot being saved and Assouan's being blocked. Each team continued to go back and forth, with the Warriors recording three shots and the Knights recording a pair, before Indiana Tech took charge once more and reached the back of the net, increasing their lead to 2-0 going into the half. 

The Warriors opened up the second half with a pair of shots that were a tad high and blocked by the Knights' defensive line. Each team continued to go back and forth across the field, with Assouan and Joao Antonio Rocha each recording shots wide and the Warriors recording one high at the 70th minute mark. The Knights' defense shined throughout the rest of the matchup, blocking one shot while Tristan Edwards recorded a pair of game-changing saves in goal. The Knights took a couple more attempts at a strike but fell short, with two shots saved and one blocked, ending the game with a 2-0 loss. 

Samuel Wehaus led the charge, recording four shots, while Leonard Assouan and Josh Wesseling each recorded a pair of shots. In goal, Tristan Edwards played the entire 90 minutes, recording a pair of saves. 

Marian will be back in action, closing out the six-game home stand on Wednesday, September 16th, as they host IU-East at 7 pm.
