Uriah Buchanan,
Samirion Ford and
Ashton Vogel swept the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Players of the Week, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Buchanan rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries with an additional catch for seven yards. The redshirt sophomore's touchdown put the Knights in the lead for good in Saturday's 30-6 win at 17th-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.).
Ford picked up MSFA Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery along with four tackles. Ford personally accounted for two of USF's four turnovers on the night, helping MU retain the Franciscan Bowl trophy.
Vogel added MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week recognition after going a perfect 3-for-3 field goals on top of converting each of his three extra-point attempts in Saturday night's win. Vogel matched a career high with a 48-yard field goal in the first half.
Marian, now ranked 11th in the NAIA football poll, makes its long-awaited home debut on Saturday, hosting Madonna at Ascension St. Vincent Field at 1:05 p.m.
