LIMA, OHIO - The Marian women's soccer team captured their second ranked shutout win Monday afternoon against the University of Northwestern Ohio to close out their non-conference slate.
Olivia Parmer led the way, recording her first hat trick of the season.
Olivia Parmer opened up the match, recording the first shot of the day, which was saved by the Racers' goalie at the five-minute mark. She quickly followed up a little over 10 minutes later with a goal off of a pass from
Allie Tredway to take the early 1-0 lead. The Knights continued to maintain possession, allowing Parmer to get back on the board this time with a pass from
Lauren Maresh to increase the lead to two. Northwestern Ohio was able to control possession, taking two shots but came up short against
Lily Ames' defense in goal and the Knights' defensive line. Marian was able to take back control, with Maresh taking a shot a tad high and
Sophia Dawson taking a shot that was saved by the goalie, ending the half with the 2-0 lead.
Jordan Love opened up the second half with a shot wide right less than a minute in, but the Racers were able to quickly counter with a trio of shots, with one on target saved by Ames. Parmer was able to quickly regain control for the Knights, taking a shot wide right but was able to follow up with her third goal of the match. The middle part of the second half was very back and forth between teams, with each team only taking one shot. Before, Northwestern Ohio gained control in the final five minutes, recording three shots on goal, all saved by Ames. Maresh closed out the match with a shot in the remaining three minutes but it was a tad to the left, leaving the Knights to take the 3-0 win over Northwestern Ohio.
Olivia Parmer led the way, recording five shots with four on target and one in goal while
Lauren Maresh recorded three shots of her own. Maresh and
Allie Tredway also recorded one assist each in the match. In goal,
Lily Ames recorded her sixth win of the season and made five saves in the match.
Marian will be back in action on Wednesday, September 23rd, as they open up Crossroads League play and honor the 2026 senior class. Kickoff is set for 7 PM at Ascension St. Vincent Field.
