INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The Marian women's soccer team honored the 2026 senior class on Wednesday evening, winning 2-1 over Huntington to open CL play. After the win, the Knights improved to 7-0-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in the Crossroads League.
The Knights opened up the match, controlling the first half with three shots within the first 30 minutes of play.
Kaitlyn Lavezzi,
Lauren Maresh, and
Sammie King each recorded one shot on goal but came up short of the Foresters goalie. After seven minutes of back-and-forth action,
Allie Tredway took a shot, but it ended just wide of the goal. Huntington was able to fire back their first shot of the game in the 40th minute of play, but it came up short of
Lily Ames' defense in goal. Marian was able to fire off one more shot from
Elizabeth Lantrip that was saved by Sanders in goal, going into the half tied 0-0.
Two minutes into play in the second half, Tredway got the Knights on the board with a goal off of a pass from
Olivia Parmer to take the one-goal lead. Huntington attempted to counter but was just wide of the goal two minutes later. Marian maintained possession with four more shots before
Sienna Mullen reached the back of the net with an assist from Lantrip to extend the lead to two. The Knights fired off two more shots before Huntington gained back control. With less than 10 minutes remaining, the Foresters fired off a shot that reached the back of the net, bringing the Knights' win down to 2-1.Â

Allie Tredway each recorded a goal for the Knights, with
Olivia Parmer and
Elizabeth Lantrip recording the assists.

Jordan Love,
Elizabeth Lantrip, and
Taylor Wert all had a multi-shot night, all recording two shots and Wert recording three shots. In goal,
Lily Ames improved her record to 7-0-1 after the win, recording one save in the match.Â
The Knights will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Goshen to take on the Maple Leafs at 2 PM.Â
