INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's tennis team wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Crossroads League regular season Tuesday night, as the Knights defeated Grace 4-0 at the Marian Tennis Courts. Marian finishes their CL regular season with a 7-1 record.
Marian rolled through doubles to claim the first point of the match, as Josie Yarbrough and Emma Chrome claimed a 6-1 victory over Gretchen Adams and Hallie Mast at the No. 3 spot. The Knights soon clinched the match, with Dana Savarino and Betija Dusele scored a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles against Anna Graves and Addy Jarvis. Katharina Bopst and Lisa Koerner went unfinished in their match at No. 1, in a tight 4-3 battle.
With the 1-0 lead in the match established, Marian went to work in singles and got a quick win from Koerner, as she was victorious in straight sets over Jarvis at No. 4 with scores of 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 Chrome won her matchup against Kiersten Martin by 6-0, 6-1 scores, and clinching the match was Bopst at No. 2. Bopst won a three set fight against Lydia Ruegsegger, winning 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) to claim the victory. 
Dusele went unfinished at No. 1 leading 1-0 in her match, while Savarino was also leading 1-0 at No. 5 as the match concluded. 
Marian will host the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals next Tuesday afternoon. The match opponent and time will be announced following the conclusion of league play on Tuesday evening.
