Marion, Ind. - The Marian competitive cheerleading team performed in their second competition of the season Friday night, taking part in the first of three competitions hosted by Indiana Wesleyan over the weekend. Marian finished third in the competition, with the University of the Cumberlands taking the win.
Marian scored a season-high 77 points in their second competition, doing so down an athlete from their full roster of 10. The University of the Cumberlands won with a score of 89.86, while the hosts Indiana Wesleyan finished second with a score of 83.05 points.
Marian defeated Bethel and Brescia in the competition, notching their second consecutive event finishing above the Bearcats while defeating the Pilots by three points.
The Knights will return to Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon to compete in the second of three events this weekend in Marion.
