GREENWOOD, Ind. - For the first time in program history, a member of the Marian competitive cheerleading team has been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District Team, with junior
Meilyn Kniola earning the 2024-25 honor for the Knights.
Eligible nominees for the CSC Academic All-America program must maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while having reached sophomore status academically, while cheerleading and dance team student-atheltes must participate in 75 percent of the team's total competitions to be considered for the At-Large Academic All-District Team.
Each school is allowed up to six nominations for men's at-large and six for women's at-large, with selected CSC Academic All-District recipients advancing to the ballot for CSC Academic All-America honors. Those awards will be voted on by members of CSC from around the nation and will be announced on July 8 and 9.
Kniola was the Co-Athlete of the Year in the Crossroads League in 2025, and was a First Team All-Crossroads League Flyer. Kniola is the first cheerleader in program history to earn All-District Team honors.
