Knights End Season As Co-Runner Ups at CL Championships

Mount Vernon. Ohio - The Marian competitive cheer team ended their season as co-runner ups with Saint Francis University at the Crossroads League Championships. 

In prelims action the Knights placed in third overall with a score of 81.32. Taylor placed in second only 0.65 above the Knights score while Indiana Wesleyan took first with 87.27 total points. Saint Francis and Bethel rounded out the top five with the Cougars scoring 78.27 and the Pilots scoring 73.77 in prelims. Spring Arbor, Mount Vernon, and Huntington rounded out the rest of the placements.

In the finals round Marian improved their score by 0.9 finishing with a score of 82.22 to finish third in the round. Saint Francis was able to push ahead in the final round with a score of 83.23 to finish in second and Indiana Wesleyan won the round with a total of 87.87. Taylor and Spring Arbor rounded out the top five of the round with the Trojans scoring 81.73 points and the Cougars scoring 75.43 points. Bethel, Mount Vernon, and Huntington finished off the round placing in 6th-8th. 

After combining both rounds Marian ended in a tie with Saint Francis for second place with an overall score of 81.992. Indiana Wesleyan ended up winning the competition with a score of 87.717 and gaining an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships. Taylor and Bethel rounded out the top five with the Trojans scoring an 81.792 overall and the Pilots scoring a 74.867 overall. Spring Arbor took home sixth place while Mount Vernon took home seventh and Huntington finished in eighth.

The Knights ended off their 2024-25 campaign in hopes of improving next years routine in the offseason.
