Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Marian women's tennis team picked up their third consecutive win on Saturday, taking down Grace 6-1. Marian's win moves them to 3-2 overall on the season.
Marian took the early lead by clinching the doubles point. Ana Barbosa and
Michelle Irigoyen won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles against Anna Graves and Lydia Ruegsegger to get the Knights started, but it was Grace bouncing back with a win at the No. 1 spot as
Yasmin Imamniyazova and
Katharina Bopst fell 6-4 to Jimena Ramirez and Alejandra Sandoval.
Isadora Muller and Paloma Caceres won 7-6 (7-2) over Molli Runestad and Kiersten Martin to clinch the point for Marian.
In singles action, Caceres picked up the 6-1, 6-1 victory over Martin at No. 6 singles, while Barbosa defeated Graves 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot.
Emma Chrome continued the wins for Marian with win against Ruegsegger at No. 4 singles. At the No. 3 spot, Irigoyen won her match 6-0, 6-2 against Sandoval, before Bopst took down Runestad at the No. 5 spot. Imamniyazova fell to Ramirez at No. 1 singles.
Marian will be back at home for their next match, hosting Spring Arbor on September 19 at 2:30 p.m.
