INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's track and field team had a slew of success at the IUPUI Invitational, as they competed at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Fall Creek Pavilion on Friday and Saturday. Marian added three new events to their NAIA qualifying list for the 2024 season, as the Knights hit three new A standards and one B standard.

Marian's success over the weekend came in the form of six total NAIA standards met, with four of the marks first for the team this season. In addition to her repeat A standard in the weight throw, Arriana Benjamin hit the A standard in shot put for the first time this season, placing second in each event at IUPUI. Claire Lange, a semester enrollee at Marian, placed second in an A standard run in the 600m, and also helped guide the Knights' 4x400m relay team to an A standard time. Lange was joined by Taylor Thomas on the A standard realy, as Thomas followed Lange's path to success with an NAIA B standard in the 600m.

Lange and Thomas made up half of the team's 4x400m relay squad, with Janae Bailey and Hanna Reuter making up the other two legs on the team. Gina Butz hit another A standard as she looks to maintain form in the high jump, claiming Marian's lone win for the two-day meet with her 1.69m height in the high jump.

Marian will next compete in a split meet on February 2 and 3, with members of the program either competing at the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic or the Notre Dame Meyo Invite.
