Box Score 2 Marion, Ind. - The Marian women's track and field team competed at the annual IWU Midwest Classic on Saturday, as they enter the final weeks of their regular season during the indoor portion of their schedule.
Arriana Benjamin headlined Marian's smaller group competing at Indiana Wesleyan, as she hit a pair of NAIA A standard marks in the throws.
Arriana Benjamin stole the show for the Knights competing at Indiana Wesleyan, winning the weight throw while finishing second in the shot put. Benjamin hit NAIA A standards in both events, while her win in the weight throw set a new Marian record with a distance of 18.63m. Benajmin's shot put mark was a season-best, improving her mark in the national standings.
Also highlighting Marian's efforts were
Taylor Thomas who won the 600m with an NAIA B standard time, and Nhadyia Watson put up an NAIA B standard mark in her second place weight throw finish.
Katie Woods would finish second in the 1000m, Clarie Lange finished second in the 400m, and
Nora Steele finished fourth in the 800m.
Marian will next compete on Friday, February 9, as the Knights host their first-ever indoor meet, with the Marian Indoor Invite scheduled to take place at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
