Box Score Columbia, Ky. - The Marian women's tennis team suffered their second consecutive defeat, as they were handed a 4-1 loss against No. 11 Lindsey Wilson. The loss drops Marian to 14-7 overall on the season.

In doubles, the Blue Raiders' Heyka Rodriguez and Mariangeles Mateu started the doubles competition off on court two with a 6-3 win over Marian's Yasmin Imamniyazova and Ana Barbosa. Martina Cortal and Anastasiia Ivanchenko finished second on court three, defeating Paloma Caceres and Isadora Muller 6-4, putting Marian in a 1-0 deficit. Anastasiia Vorobiova and Darija Mladenovic led the match on court one over Marian's Katharina Bopst and Michelle Irigoyen when the doubles point was claimed, as the pair trailed 5-3.

In singles, Mateu's match concluded first due to an injury as Barbosa retired trailing 6-2, 5-5. Lindsey Wilson's win was followed by a tiebreak win on court one by Vorobiova over Imamniyazova, as the Marian freshman lost 6-3, 4-6, 3-6. On court three Marian landed their lone win of the day, Irigoyen scored a three-set win over Reshmo Challarapu, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Marian was unable to stack the wins however, as Mladenovic secured the win for the Blue Raiders by defeating Bopst 6-1, 6-1.

Carceres trailed 1-0 as her match in the fifth singles flight had just began. 

Marian will play at Campbellsville on Sunday.
