INDIANAPOLIS - Multiple records fell over the weekend for Marian men's track and field, as the Knights competed in three different meets across two different states. The majority of the team competed at Taylor University's George Glass Invite, while select members ran and jumped at the Crossroads of America Invite, hosted at the Fall Creek Pavilion and the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Owen Myers hit an A standard in the race walk at Olivet Nazarene's Tiger Invite.
Friday saw a pair of Marian school records get rewritten, as new marks were set in the race walk and the distance medley relay.
Owen Myers improved from a B standard to an A standard with his fourth place finish at the ONU Tiger Invite, clocking a 14:23 which when adjusted to an over-sized track time converts to a 14:13. Myers boasted the No. 7 time in the NAIA after Friday's results. At the Fall Creek Pavilion, the DMR took the top billing as the group of

Mason Piatt,
Benjamin Riehle, and
Tristan Trevino broke the school record set at last year's Crossroads League Championship by 1.07 seconds with their final time of 10:01.66. The group ended Friday as the NAIA's top DMR squad, while recording the first NAIA A standard in the event of the season.Â
On Saturday, the Knights had strong efforts again at the Fall Creek Pavilion, with
Eric Materna highlighting the day with his NAIA B standard time of 48.13 seconds in the 400m, an event where he finished third overall.
Olivier Lifrange finished fifth in the 400m with a B standard mark of 48.28 seconds, earning his first individual provisional of the season.
Mason Piatt hit a PR in the 800m, and
Owen Pittman clocked a 4:30 mile effort.Â
Several Knights also performed well at Taylor University's George Glass Invite on Saturday, and were led by
Christian Rios' NAIA A standard in the weight throw.The senior's winning mark of 18.70m is his second A standard throw in the event of the season.
Will Osafo won the 60 meters with a 6.82 second race, and
Benjamin Riehle followed his DMR record with a win in the 600m.
Jake Grangier won the triple jump and finished second in the pole vault, and
Victor Dailey and
Gunner Kovach tied for the win in the high jump.
Marko Brajovic would win the long jump after finishing third in the triple jump, and JV runner
Rick Williams won the 1000m.
Micah Williams finished second inthe 60m hurdles, competing in the event three times on the weekend.Â
