LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Marian men's and women's track and field team shined in Louisville at the Cardinals' Clark Woods Open. The men's team collected seven NAIA standard marks and broke two school records, while the women's 4x400m relay team met the NAIA B standard.
The men were led by
Eric Materna and
Tristan Trevino, who both played a hand in Marian records falling. Materna matched his PR in the 400m with an A standard, while the sophomore,
Raif Miller,
Olivier Lifrange, and
Eli Givens broke the season's best 4x400m relay time, backing their top time in the NAIA this season. Trevino, who had already took the mantle as Marian's all-time 800m earlier this season, broke his record while helping pace
Benjamin Riehle to a B standard in the event.
Richard Dube, who ran his first-ever 400m hurdle race on Friday, hit the B standard with a school record time of 53.44 seconds.
Jeremiah Brown hit an A standard in the open 100m with a 10.36 second time, improving his own school record effort. Brown helped Marian's 4x100m relay team shave 0.35 seconds off their season time to record an A standard.
For the women,
Nora Steele clocked a PR in the 800m, while
Hanna Reuter paced Marian's efforts in the 400m. Reuter, along with her twin sister
Holli Reuter,
Emma Edwards, and
Jovana Milosevic, the 4x400m relay team clocked an NAIA B standard effort.
