Marion, Ind. - The Marian women's track and field team capped their Crossroads League Championship dominance on Friday afternoon, as Marian completed their fifth consecutive league championship.
Hanna Reuter was one of the Knights who paced the team's efforts, and after the meet, was named the Most Valuable Track Athlete.
Marian took first place with a record-setting 240 points while Indiana Wesleyan finished in second with 145 points. Taylor rounded out the top three with 129 points. The victory was Marian's largest points scored in program history at the meet, breaking their previous team record of 211 set in 2022.Â
On the track,
Sabrina Siems and
Madison Beaumont started the action competing in the 3000m Steeplechase. Beaumont finished in ninth with a time of 13:42.62, while Siems finished in fifth, earning four points with a time of 12:54.45. Marian continued to rack up the points with a first-place finish in the 4x100m relay. The team of
Armoney Clay,
Jovana Milosevic,
Kathy Soriano, and
Hanna Reuter recorded a time of 47.10 to earn the NAIA B Standard.
Katie Woods,
Gracynn Hinkley, and
Summer Rempe continued the action in the 1500m with Rempe finishing with a time of 5:22.95. Hinkley finished in fourth place with a time of 4:49.15 while Woods led the way, finishing first overall with a time of 4:36.03.
Nina Marinkovic and
Brooke Coffman kept the points rolling in the 100m Hurdles, with Marinkovic finishing in sixth with a time of 15.88 and Coffman finishing in eighth with a time of 16.60.
The action continued on the track with
Hanna Reuter,
Emma Edwards,
Maya Mundy, and
Holli Reuter all competing in the 400m, with
Holli Reuter finishing in ninth with a time of 59.59. Mundy finished in seventh with a time of 59.30 while Edwards finished as the runner-up with a time of 57.17.
Hanna Reuter led the way with a time of 56.04, tabbing an NAIA B Standard. Milosevic, Clay, and Soriano all competed in the 100m dash finals. Soriano finished in sixth with a time of 12.70, Clay finished with a time of 12.49 to take fifth, and Milosevic finished in fourth with a time of 12.41.
Toward the latter half of the running events,
Nora Steele,
Adrianna Boyd, and
Gracie Fields all competed in the 800m, with Fields finishing with a time of 2:26.04. Boyd took a sixth-place finish with a time of 2:18.20 while Steele led the way, earning the runner-up title with a time of 2:13.01 to earn the NAIA B Standard. In the 400m Hurdles, Coffman finished with a time of 1:09.86 while
Claire Lange finished in fifth with a time of 1:05.08.Â
Hanna Reuter, Milosevic, Soriano, and Edwards all competed in the 200m, with Edwards finishing in eighth place with a time of 25.83 and Soriano finishing in sixth with a time of 25.61. Milosevic finished in fifth place with a time of 24.95, and Reuter led the way with a first-place finish and a time of 24.62. Wrapping up the individual track events,
Emma Beimfohr,
Vivienne Siefker,
Lainey Roth, and
Josie Feldman all competed in the 5000m. Feldman finished with a time of 19:45.80 while Roth finished with a time of 19:15.21. Siefker finished in seventh with a time of 18:51.10 while Beimfohr led the way, finishing in fifth with a time of 18:46.13. Ending the action on the track, the 4x400m relay took home second place as the team of Lange, Reuter, Mundy, and Steele finished with a time of 3:54.70 to earn an NAIA B Standard.
In the field,
Grace Feltz,
Bella Dean,
Taylor Aselage, and
Gabi Bilbrey all competed in the javelin throw , with Bilbrey finishing with a mark of 26.47m and Aselage finishing with a mark of 27.67m. Dean finished in third with a mark of 33.22m, and Feltz finished in second with a mark of 36.48m. Dean and Aselage also competed in the heptathlon throughout the weekend, with Dean finishing in fifth with 3395 points and Aselage finishing in sixth with 3229 points.Â
Finishing off the action in the field,
Shirmara Anderson,
Holli Reuter, and
Nina Marinkovic all competed in the triple jump, with Marinkovic finishing in seventh with a mark of 10.07m.
Holli Reuter finished in sixth with a mark of 10.74m, and Anderson won the event with a mark of 11.68m. In the Hammer
Ozofu Magaji,
Courtney Butler,
Keeley Hughes, and
Nhaydia Watson all earned points for the Knights. Magaji finished in seventh with a mark of 41.98m while Butler finished in sixth with a mark of 42.92m. Hughes finished in fifth with a mark of 47.13m, and Watson led the way with a mark of 49.85m.
The Knights will aim to add to their qualifications on May 9, competing at both Indiana State and Indiana University in last-chance meets.Â
