West Palm Beach, Fla. - The Marian women's golf team turned in a quality outing at the Kesier Seahawk Shootout, finishing their second tournament of the season on Tuesday evening as the runner-up behind the No. 1 team in the NAIA Keiser. Maria Kennard paced the fourth-ranked Knights, leading the team with a top-10 finish.

Battling against Keiser like they did at the 2025 NAIA Championship, the Knights put up a strong showing against the top team in the NAIA, hanging within 10 strokes of the Seahawks through two rounds before the host pulled away in round three. Keiser won the tournament with a 909 total, while Marian scored a 924, 15 strokes off the Seahawks. Marian had team round scores of 302, 312, and 310, and for the event carried a record of 15-1. 

Marian earned wins over several top-25 foes in the NAIA, including a two-stroke victory over third place finisher No. 6 Dalton State, fourth place No. 7 SCAD Atlanta, and fifth place No. 3 SCAD Savannah. Marian also topped No. 8 William Carry (7th), No. 19 Loyola (8th), No. 14 Southeastern (10th), (RV) Doane (16th), and (RV) Lawrence Tech (17th). In total, the Knights earned eight wins featured in the first top-25 poll of the season. 

Individually, Maria Kennard had a strong tournament, as the sophomore tied for eighth with a 231 total. Kennard shot a 72 in round one, while finishing with an 80 and 79. Jordan Adam joined her classmate in the top 12, as she tied for 12th with a 232 total. Adam had round scores of 79, 79, and 74. Both Emma Wieler and Keara Eder tied for 16th, shooting a 234. Weiler scored a 79 in both rounds one and two, and finished with a 76, while Eder shot a 79 and 74 on Monday, and an 81 on Tuesday. 

Hailey Kirkland finished in a tie for 20th, shooting a 235 total. Kirkland's round scores were 72, 81, and 82. Finishing play for the Knights was Addyson Weiler, as the freshman played as an individual and scored a 263 total. 

Marian will enjoy a week off before returning to action on September 29 and 30, when they play in the Butler Fall Invite.
