The Marian women's track and field team competed at two separate meets over the weekend, with members of the program competing in Indianapolis at the Crossroads of America Invite, hosted at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, while other members competed at Taylor University's George Glass Invite. As a whole, five NAIA standard marks were met over the weekend, led by
Katie Woods in the 800m and
Delaney Teachnor in the pole vault.
In Indianapolis, four events saw an NAIA standard effort, highlighted by an A standard run from
Katie Woods in the 800m. Woods finished runner-up in the event, and helped Marian's DMR team finish second in its race.
Hanna Reuter recorded a B standard time in the 400m, breaking Marian's school record in the event with a blazing 57.26 second time. Reuter also competing on NAIA B standard time 4x400m relay. Reuter was joined on the 4x400m by
Emma Edwards,
Claire Lange, and
Kaylana Jackson.
Ozofu Magaji had the final standard in Indianapolis, hitting a B standard in the weight throw, her fourth provisional mark of the season.
At Taylor,
Delaney Teachnor was the bright spot for Marian, winning her third consecutive pole vault competition of the season. Teachnor hit the NAIA A standard for the third time, clearing a height of 3.65m.Â
Catalla Jones and
Kathy Soriano won the sprints at Taylor, while
Gracynn Hinkley won the 800m and
Vivienne Siefker won the 3000m. Alivia Lily won the triple jump with a 10.50m distance, taking first in the three-competitor field.Â
