Marian Women's Track & Field Named Indoor CL Champions for 5th Consecutive Year

Marion, Ind. - For the fifth year in a row and sixth time overall, the Marian women's track and field team was named the Indoor Crossroads League Champions. The Knights won the championships by 106 points overall.

With their first placement, the Knights totaled 244 points overall, while Indiana Wesleyan finished in second with 138 points, and Taylor rounded out the top three with 85.50 points. Huntington came in fourth with 73.50 points, and Spring Arbor finished in fifth with 65 points. Bethel, Saint Francis, Grace, Mount Vernon, and Goshen rounded out the rest of the placements.

Emma Beimfohr opened up the action on the track in the mile, finishing 15th with a time of 5:41.12. In the 60m hurdles, Claire Lange finished eighth overall with a time of 9.53, while Kaylana Jackson finished in third with a time of 8.93. Nina Marinkovic finished in first with a time of 8.65. In the 400m, Holli Reuter earned four points for the Knights with a time of 58.49 to finish fifth overall. Hanna Reuter finished as the runner-up with a time of 57.28, earning an NAIA B Standard. Emma Edwards led the way, recording not only an NAIA A Standard with her time of 56.83 but a new meet record as well.

Next up on the track was the 60m, where Armoney Clay finished in seventh with a time of 7.93, and Jovana Milosevic led the way, finishing in third with a time of 7.83. In the 800m, Liz Fischer recorded a top-10 finish with her time of 2:23.49, while Isabella Murch finished in ninth with a time of 2:23.21. Katie Woods led the way, finishing first with a time of 2:10.68, not only recording a NAIA A Standard but also earning a new meet record. Marian continued to extend their lead throughout the day, with Summer Rempe winning the 1000m with a time of 2:55.38, clocking a NAIA A Standard. Gracynn Hinkley also finished in the top three with a second-place finish, clocking a 2:58.25 and a NAIA B Standard. Grace Goecke finished in the top-15 with a time of 3:14.83. 

In the 200m, Catalla Jones finished in the top-10 with a time of 26.43 while Kathy Soriano recorded two points with her seventh-place finish and time of 26.12. Milosevic led the way once again, finishing first overall with a time of 25.49. In the 3000m, Vivienne Siefker finished with a time of 10:58.87, while Josie Feldman finished with a time of 10:48.42. Lainey Roth tallied two points for Marian with a time of 10:37.56, finishing in seventh. In the final event of the day on the track, the 4x400m finished in second with an NAIA B Standard. The team of Kamiah Hunt, Soriano, Jackson, and Edwards finished with a time of 3:56.19. 

In the field, Brook Coffman led the way in the high jump, finishing first with an NAIA B Standard and a mark of 1.66m. Nina Marinkovic came in fifth with a mark of 1.51m, and Taylor Aselage came in 12th with a mark of 1.41m. Marian continued action claiming points in the pole vault, with Ashlyn Schwab finishing sixth with a mark of 3.40m, while Quynh Sedlacek finished in fourth with the same mark. Delaney Teachnor led the way, finishing first overall with a mark of 3.75m and hitting the NAIA A Standard. 

Also in the field, the Knights had a clean sweep of the triple jump, with Alivia Lilly finishing in third with a mark of 10.89m. Shirmara Anderson finished as the runner-up with a mark of 11.27m while Ciarra Moore led the way with a mark of 11.86m. Not only was Moore's mark an NAIA A Standard, but it is also the new meet record. The shot put closed out the day for the Knights with Ozaofu Magaji hitting a mark of 8.62m. Gabi Bilbrey finished in sixth with a mark of 12.68m, and Hadleigh Filipovich led the way for Marian, finishing with a mark of 12.84m.

Marian will be back in action in two weekends as they travel to Gainesville, Florida, to compete in the NAIA National Championships on Thursday, March 5th, through Saturday, March 7th.
