The Marian women's track and field team split squads over the weekend, with half of the team traveling down to Knoxville, Tennessee, to compete in the Tennessee Invite. The other half of the squad went up to Muncie, Ind., to compete in the We Fly Challenge hosted by Ball State. Over the weekend, the Knights set four new school records and recorded eight NAIA Standards.
At the Tennessee Invite,Â
Kyla Bradberry led the way, setting not only her new PR in the 200m but also recording a new school record of 23.96, clocking the NAIA B Standard.
Emma Edwards also set a new school record of 55.22 in the 400m, where she finished seventh, hitting an NAIA B Standard. In the relay, the 4x400m led the way with the team of
Hanna Reuter,
Holli Reuter,
Kaylana Jackson, and
Emma Edwards finishing fifth, running a NAIA A Standard and setting a new school record of 3:46.52 in the event. In the field,
Delaney Teachnor led the way, finishing first in the pole vault, with a new PR and school record of 3.82m, hitting an NAIA A Standard.
At the We Fly Challenge,
Sabrina Siems led the way on the track, finishing second overall in the steeplechase, clocking a 11:59.28.Â
Katie Woods also finished in the top two in the 1500m, finishing second with a time of 4:28.16 and running an NAIA BÂ Standard. In the field,
Ashlyn Schwab led the way, finishing second overall in the pole vault with a mark of 3.53m.
