Marion, Ind. - The Marian women's track and field team opened up the Crossroads League Championship with dominating efforts. The Knights finish day one in first place overall leading by over 15 points.
After one day of action the Knights currently hold the first place spot with 72 points over all. Indiana Wesleyan comes in behind Marian with 55 points while Taylor rounds out the top three with 37 points. Mount Vernon holds on to fourth while Grace rounds out the top five. Huntington, Spring Arbor, Bethel, Goshen, and Saint Francis round out the rest of the field after one day of action.
On the track
Bella Dean,
Brooke Coffman, and
Nina Marinkovic opened up the day competing in the 100m hurdles prelims with Dean finishing in 12th with a time of 15.99. Coffman qualified for finals in the event with a time of 14.91 while Marinkovic also qualified with her time of 14.51. The 4x800m relay was the first event to get the Knights on the board with their first place finish. The team of

Nora Steele,
Gracie Fields, and
Adrianna Boyd finished with a time of 9:03.07 to earn the NAIA A Standard.
Sophia Ramsay,
Kathy Soriano,
Armoney Clay, and
Jovana Milosevic all competed in the 100m preliminaries with Ramsay finishing in 12th place with a time of 12.61. Soriano, Clay, and Milosevic all qualified for finals tomorrow with Soriano recording a 12.26, Clay recording a time of 12.24, and Milosevic recording a time of 12.21. Reuter, Milosevic,
Emma Edwards, and Soriano all qualified for the finals in the 200m tomorrow. Soriano recorded a time of 25.13 while Edwards finished witha 25.09. Milosevic recorded a 25.08 and Reuter led the way with a time of 24.41 to earn an NAIA B Standard.
In the field Coffman, Marinkovic,
Precious Knight, and
Taylor Aselage all competed in the High Jump with Aselage finishing 14th with a mark of 1.41m. Knight earned points for Marian with her seventh place finish and a mark of 1.56m. Marinkovic finished fifth overall with a mark of 1.61m and Coffman led the way with a second place finish with a mark of 1.69m hitting the NAIA A Standard. In the Long Jump,
Hanna Reuter,
Holli Reuter, and Marinkovic each competed for the Knights. Holli finished in 11th with a mark of 5.11m and Hanna finished in 10th with a mark of 5.12m. Marinkovic led the way finishing third with a mark of 5.56m.
In the throwing events,
Ozofu Magaji,
Gabi Bilbrey,
Courtney Butler, and
Hadleigh Filipovich each competed in the Shot Put to open up the day. Filipovich finished in 10th with a mark of 11.76m while Butler earned points for the Knights finishing in sixth with a mark of 12.48m. Bilbrey finished in fifth with a mark of 12.69m while Magaji led the way with a fourth place finish hitting a mark of 12.85m. In the discus Bilbrey,
Tracey Gooch, Filipovich, and
Nhaydia Watson all competed with Watson placing 15th with a mark of 34.28m. Filipovich earned two points for the Knights with her seventh place finish and a mark of 43.64m. Gooch finished in sixth with a mark of 44.03m and Bilbrey led the way finishing in first with a mark of 48.19m to record and NAIA A Standard.
Wrapping up the field events,
Delaney Teachnor,
Quynh Sedlacek,
Georgie Ashworth, and
Mia Curran all competed in the Pole Vault. Curran finished in 11th with a mark of 2.75m while Ashworth finished in eigth with a mark of 3.05m. Sedlacek finished in fifth with a mark of 3.20m and Teachnor led the way with a mark of 3.80m to earn first place and an NAIA A Standard. In the Heptathlon,
Bella Dean is currently in fifth place with 2316 points and
Taylor Aselage is in sixth with 2086 points.
The Knights will be back in action tomorrow hoping to earn another Crossroads League Outdoor Championship.
