Ypsilanti, Mich. - The Marian women's golf team completed their program-best run at the NAIA National Championship on Friday afternoon, coming home with a third place finish at the 2025 championship, held at Eagle Crest Golf Course. Marian's team finish of third is the best in program history, breaking the school 72-hole record by a landslide.
The Knights finished the final round of the NAIA Championship with a 298 overall score, their second-best of the week. The score of 10-over as a team for the day saw the Knights slide back from second to third, as Keiser managed to edge out the Knights by one stroke on the final round to break their tie and take the runner-up trophy. British Columbia completed their wire-to-wire win for the week, firing even par as a team.
Marian finished the week with a total of 1194, breaking their previous team-record set in last season's fifth-place finish at TPC Deere Run. Marian's previous team record was a 1247 score over 72-holes, with the new mark shattering the record by 53 strokes. The team's third-place finish is the best in program history, also breaking the 2024 finish of fifth.
Emma Weiler completed her dominant week on the course with a 73 in the final round, ending her national tournament run with a total score three-over par. Weiler's 291 score shattered the previous school record set by Angela Gauck and
Sidney Parmer, besting the previous school record for 72 holes by 14 shots. The sophomore made three birdies in her final round, and was named to the NAIA Championship All-Tournament Team with her fifth-place individual finish. Weiler played each round of the championship in the top-five individually.
MacKendzie Dresbaugh finished 16th individually, carding a 75 in the final round to end with a total of 301 for the week. Dresbaugh sank three birdie putts in the final round, and completed her Marian career with her best finish at the NAIA Championships.
Maria Kennard shot a 75 in the final round, and finished 33rd overall, gaining five spots in the final individual standings. Kennard finished her freshman season with a 307 total score.
Keara Eder and
Jordan Adam each tied for 36th in the tournament field, firing a total score of 308 for the four rounds of the tournament. Eder shot a 75 in the final round of the tournament, while Adam battled through an 83 score in the final round of her freshman season.
The Knights finished their historic season with three team victories, while earning five additional top-five finishes on the year.
