Austin, Texas - College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday the 2025 Academic All-America® softball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, and for the first time since 2013, the Marian softball team has been represented on the team, with
Grace Meyer being named as the program's first-ever First Team Academic All-American.
In what has been a summer full of accolades for
Grace Meyer, the senior ends her career with one of the nation's highest honors, as Meyer was named a member of the CSC Academic All-America First Team. Meyer is the first player in program history to be named to the Academic All-America Team, and is the first to be named on the top team.
Meyer was recently named a member of the 2025 NAIA All-America First Team, and in the offseason has been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, along with the Crossroads League First Team. Meyer also earned Crossroads League Tournament Team honors and Crossroads League Gold Glove Team status.
The senior catcher played in all 57 of the team's games in 2025, and ended her career with a .396 batting average as a senior as she was named NAIA All-America First Team. Meyer tied the Marian career record for doubles with 66, driving 16 two-bag hits this season in addition to hitting four home runs. Meyer scored 43 runs and drove in 42, and slugged .585 in her senior season. The catcher made up part of the most successful batteries in program history, catching 99 wins for pitcher
Olivia Stunkel, while being behind the plate for Stunkel's single-season win record in 2025.
The Marian softball team finished their season in the NAIA World Series, placing fifth in the field of ten teams. The Knights carried a record of 48-9 overall on the season, winning both the Crossroads League Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
Four of the 23 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA softball teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.825.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
