Jackson, Mich. - For the first time this season, the Marian softball team has brought home a Crossroads League Player of the Week honor, as the red-hot Abby Madere was named as this week's top player in the league.

Madere led No. 7 Marian to a 4-0 week by hitting .750 at the plate with three doubles, two home runs and eight runs batted in. The senior also scored eight runs, had multiple hits in each of MU's games and did not strikeout in her 12 at-bats.

The Knights have a big week ahead, hosting six games throughout the week. The slate of six home contests begins with a date on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. against Indiana Wesleyan. Marian will have home games against Spring Arbor on Wednesday, and Taylor on Saturday.
