JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from September 28 through October 4. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
For the second time this season,
Tristan Edwards and
Samuel Wehaus sweep the Crossroads League Player of the Week Honors. On the offensive side,
Samuel Wehaus led the way, earning his third honor of the season and sixth of his career. Wehaus tabbed a brace in both matches this week against Mount Vernon Nazarene and Grace as well as an assist in Wednesday's match. Wehaus also now leads the NAIA in both goals (17) and points (39) this season. On the defensive end,
Tristan Edwards earned his second honor of the season and his career after recording a 2-0 week. Edwards recorded a career-high of eight saves on Wednesday's match, only giving up one goal off of a penalty kick. On Saturday, he wrapped up the week with his fourth shutout win of the season and tallied two saves in the match.
Marian is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Upland, Ind. to take on the Trojans at 1:00 PM.
