Wehaus and Edwards Sweep CL POTW Honors

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from August 31 through September 6. Sports Information Directors at the league's institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners. For the first time in the 2026 season, the Marian Men's Soccer team swept the player-of-the-week honors.

For the second week in a row, the Knights earned the offensive player of the week honor, with Sam Wehaus leading the way this week. Wehaus was active in the Knights' 2-0 week, posting three goals and one assist for seven points. The junior had two scores in a 4-1 win over Saint Xavier, before scoring and assisting a goal in a 2-0 win over Judson. This is Wehaus' first honor of the 2026 campaign and the fourth honor of his career.

Tristan Edwards earned the first defensive player of the week honor of his career after his 2-0 week. Edwards allowed just one goal in a pair of complete-game wins between the pipes for Marian. The junior posted three saves in each victory, and his lone goal allowed came on a penalty kick.

Marian is back in action tonight as they host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in their fifth straight home game, with kickoff slated for 7 PM.
